Brand Ambassador

What is a Brand Ambassador?

A brand ambassador is a representative of a company who is devoted to promoting and representing a particular product, service, event or idea through public relations techniques such as hosting events and social media influencer marketing.

The brand ambassador position may be an internal employee or an external spokesperson or in digital marketing, a social media micro – influencer hired on a permanent, or more likely, a temporary contract to reach the audience of the influencer’s social media accounts.

Brand ambassadors allow companies to spread their message about products or services through an ambassador program as a part of a larger marketing strategy.

Brand Ambassadors may appear in public on behalf of the company they work for, representing the company’s best interests and values at trade shows, conventions, expos, & conferences or simply represent them ‘virtually’ on their social media platforms. Brand ambassadors act as liaisons between customers and businesses.

The brand ambassador’s role may include selling branded products, sharing content on their social media channels, informing their community of social media followers (potential customers) about services offered by the brand, or encouraging satisfied customers to increase their customer loyalty and promote product awareness through their social media presence.

A successful brand ambassador’s marketing efforts should create positive associations with their brand or company by engaging with potential customers in a conversational manner that compliments the brand’s philosophy, while also interacting with loyal customers to fuel word of mouth marketing. They will work closely with the marketing team’s marketing campaigns and product managers.

Potential brand ambassadors should fit well with the brand’s mission statement and values so that they will be able to take on the brand ambassador role and represent the company in a positive light.
